The Asian Journal of Multilingualism and Applied Linguistics publishes articles that look at the connection between multilingual and multicultural knowledge, generally defined, and the everyday experience of applied linguistics, particularly language learning. Its scope is international in that it encourages pieces that demonstrate how local issues of multilingualism, language use, or learning are representative of larger global issues. The goal of the Journal is to spark discussion among authors and the broader community of applied linguists. There are also reviews in the Journal. Within all possible domains and fields of applied linguistics, the Journal provides a forum for innovative studies that explore the intersections of multilingualism and language learning, language use and learning in society, language planning and policy, languages and cultures in contact, bilingualism and multilingualism, language teaching methodology, and sociolinguistics.
